Environment
- YugabyteDB Anywhere - All versions
Issue
The YugabyteDB Anywhere UI displays an alert stating: “SSH Key Expiry.”
Cause
This alert is triggered based on a time-based calculation. If the SSH key creation time exceeds 365 days, the alert is generated.
Note: It is not mandatory to rotate SSH keys. SSH access keys do not have an inherent expiration period. However, some organizations enforce internal security policies that require periodic SSH key rotation.
Resolution
Disable the SSH Key Expiry Alert.
Steps to Disable the Alert:
-
Navigate to YBA UI > Admin > Alert Configuration > Alert Policies
-
Locate the SSH Key Expiry Alert
-
Click Deactivate
Refer to the screenshot for guidance.
Additional Information
If your organization’s internal policy requires rotating SSH keys for an On-Premises Provider, follow the steps outlined in this article: https://support.yugabyte.com/hc/en-us/articles/4544551486989-Manually-Rotate-On-Premises-SSH-Keys
